How Heitner Legal Assisted Braxton Miller

Whether it be an athlete, entertainer or corporate entity, Heitner Legal has grown to become one of the first law firms thought of for trademark application filings. That was certainly the case for former Ohio State and NFL quarterback Braxton Miller.

Selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Braxton Miller quickly decided that he was not going to put all his eggs in the NFL basket. He began to build a brand off the field surrounding the concept of “CHARG1NG”.

Miller created a line of premier athletic apparel as well as football camps in conjunction with the brand. When it came time to protect the valuable word mark and associated design mark, Miller, his father and his representatives came to Heitner Legal for the work.

Heitner Legal filed a trademark application for the CHARG1NG word mark on October 25, 2017 and received a registration on August 7, 2018, which is considered quick in the realm of trademark filings. We received a registration for the design mark on October 30, 2018. Now, Miller has two registrations, each for the marks that he had Heitner Legal work on.

Heitner Legal has also worked with UMBC, Bill Raftery, Des Linden and many others with their trademark protection and enforcement.
