Jalen Hurts, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles and former member of the Alabama and Oklahoma college football programs, became a star in the NFL from the moment he suited up. Along with that notoriety and stardom came off-the-field opportunities, which Heitner Legal has been fortunate to assist with, on occasion, as legal counsel.
For instance, when Truist Bank sought a spokesperson for a public relations program to promote the Truist Community Day Production, it tapped Hurts and the contract ultimately fell in the lap of this firm to review and negotiate. It was a great deal for the quarterback and brand, and we were happy to modify it in a way where Hurts could feel comfortable with the terms.
Additionally, Heitner Legal was asked to assist with a Whistle Sports deal where Hurts would provide on-camera talent and promotional services, with Columbia Sportswear as a partner. After multiple rounds of revisions, the contract was where it needed to be for Hurts to move forward if he chose to participate in the deal.
This type of contractual transactional work is common for Heitner Legal to perform in conjunction with athletes and their business teams, including their agents.
