I hope that you have not yet grown completely tired of hearing “There’s an App for That” during breaks of your favorite television shows, because in all likelihood, you are going to continue to hear it in Apple advertisements. Apple won’t acknowledge your wit, but instead might serve you with a demand letter to pay royalties or halt use.
Earlier this month, Apple was awarded a trademark for the catchy phrase. Apple initially filed for the trademark in December 2009. It covers “Retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.”
