Motion For Continuance Granted For World Series Excuse

This really could go down as the greatest Emergency Motion for Continuance ever.  An attorney, Darrell W. Cook, asked for a continuance of a Pretrial Conference originally scheduled for yesterday at 1:00 p.m., because he wanted to be able to attend Game 1 of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers.  And in his Motion, Cook left nothing back, with paragraphs like, “Since 1972, when Darrell was but a lad of thirteen, he has been a fan of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club.”  Check out the Motion at the bottom of this post, including footnotes and all.

And you better believe that the Motion was granted.  Via Cook’s Twitter feed:

11:14 a.m. Oct 27 – The judge just granted my motion to continue Whew. .Good thing- I am on a plane in Houston. Go #Rangers. That’s how lawyering go.

7:30 p.m. Oct 27 – One day I pray every child in America will have their own Motion For Continuance. Go #Rangers!
